Every comparison on this site is produced this way. If a review doesn't follow it, we say so up front.
Define what matters
For every category we publish the rubric first — uptime, TTFB, support SLA, true renewal price, etc. — and weight each factor before any testing begins.
Sign up like a customer
We pay full price, use a normal card, and go through the standard onboarding. No press accounts, no perks, no shortcuts.
Run benchmarks for 90 days
Identical workloads, third-party monitoring (UptimeRobot, GTmetrix, Pingdom) from 8 global regions, real support tickets at varied hours.
Score, edit, publish
A second editor reviews the verdict before it ships. We re-test annually and post a public changelog when rankings change.
How we score
Each product gets an overall score out of 10, calculated from category-specific weights. For web hosting, for example:
